Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Own Use Love (“the Service”) is operated by Bricolab (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@ownuselove.com.

The short version: we collect what we need to run your storefront and bill you for it. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t show ads.

2. Information we collect

If you create an account (sellers):

  • Your email address and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in a form we cannot read.
  • Your storefront: its name and web address, and everything you add to it — products, affiliate links, images, descriptions, blog posts and your about page. Most of this is public by design, because that’s what a storefront is for.
  • Billing status: whether you’re on a trial or subscribed, and renewal dates. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

If you visit a storefront: you don’t need an account, and we don’t ask who you are. We count page views with privacy-friendly analytics that don’t use cookies or identify you, and we may set a cookie remembering whether you chose a light or dark theme.

Everyone: like any website, our hosting provider receives standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you load a page, which is used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

3. How we use it
  • To run the Service: host your storefront, keep you signed in, and show your content.
  • To bill you, and to remind you before your free trial ends.
  • To send messages about your account and the Service. We don’t send marketing newsletters.
  • To prevent fraud, spam sign-ups and abuse, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the Service. Each receives only what it needs for its job:

  • Supabase — our database and sign-in system.
  • Vercel — hosting, and the cookie-free page-view analytics described above.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Your card details go directly to Stripe.
  • Cloudflare — storing and serving product images, and a check on sign-up and sign-in forms that tells people from bots.
  • Resend — sending account and trial-reminder emails.
  • OpenAI, via Vercel’s AI Gateway — only if you use the “write a description” helper: the product title and category you entered are sent to generate the text.

When you use “find image from link”, we fetch the retailer page you pasted in order to find its product photo.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the Service.

5. Affiliate links and other websites

Storefronts link to products on other websites, and many of those links are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave Own Use Love: the retailer and its affiliate program may set their own cookies to credit the storefront owner for your purchase. Their privacy policies, not this one, apply there.

6. Cookies

We use only the cookies the Service needs: ones that keep you signed in, and one that remembers a storefront visitor’s light/dark choice. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. How long we keep it
  • We keep your account information for as long as your account exists.
  • Deleting your storefront (in Settings) removes its products, images, blog posts and about page right away. Your account remains, so you can start a new storefront.
  • To delete your account entirely, email support@ownuselove.com. We then delete your account and everything in it.
  • After deletion we keep one thing: a one-way scrambled fingerprint of your email address, which can’t be turned back into the address. It lets us tell whether an address has already had a free trial.
  • Stripe keeps its own records of past payments, as payment processors are required to by law.
8. Your choices

You can view and change most of your information yourself in your dashboard. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it, by emailing support@ownuselove.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.

9. Security

Connections to the Service are encrypted, access to your data is limited to you and to what the Service needs to run, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Where your information is processed

We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll also let account holders know by email or in the dashboard.
